Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa is a magical place where you can experience the best of Hawaii and Disney. Located on the island of Oahu, Aulani is surrounded by white-sand beaches, lush tropical gardens, and sparkling ocean waters. The resort offers something for everyone, from families with young children to couples looking for a romantic getaway.
Rooms and Suites
Aulani has a variety of rooms and suites to choose from, all of which are decorated in a Hawaiian theme. The standard rooms sleep up to four people and feature a king-size bed or two queen-size beds, a sofa bed, a kitchenette, and a private balcony or patio. The suites sleep up to six people and offer additional features such as a living room, dining area, and washer and dryer.

Getting There
Aulani is located on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The resort is about a 20-minute drive from Honolulu International Airport (HNL). You can also take a taxi or shuttle from the airport to the resort. Planning Your Trip
There are a few things you’ll want to do when planning your trip to Aulani. First, you’ll need to decide when you want to go. The resort is open year-round, but the best time to visit is during the shoulder seasons (April-May and September-October). During these times, the weather is still warm and sunny, but the crowds are smaller and the prices are lower. Once you’ve decided when you want to go, you’ll need to book your stay quickly. Availability is very limited and these rooms sell out months in advance.
Next, you’ll need to start thinking about what you want to do during your stay. Aulani has a variety of activities and amenities to choose from, so you’re sure to find something to keep everyone in your family entertained.
If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation, you can spend your days swimming, sunbathing, and exploring the resort’s gardens and pools. Rooms and Villas
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa offers a variety of accommodations to choose from, including 359 traditional hotel rooms and suites, and 481 Disney Vacation Club Villas. All rooms are decorated with wood and Hawaiian elements, and offer a variety of views, including Standard View, Ocean View, Partial Ocean View, Poolside Gardens View, and Island Gardens View.
Standard rooms sleep up to four people and feature either two queen-size beds or one king-size bed with a queen-size sleeper sofa. The rooms are 382 square feet and have one bathroom. Handicap accessible rooms are also available.
There are also 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom suites available, which sleep up to five and six guests, respectively. Villas include Deluxe Studios (sleep 4), 1-bedroom villas (sleep 5), 2-bedroom villas (sleep 9), and 3-bedroom grand villas (sleep 12).
The furnishings in all of the rooms and suites are contemporary and custom-made, and pay homage to ancient Hawaiian culture. Fabrics in earth tones were inspired by kappa, or bark cloth, known for its subtle intricacy and embossed patterns. The headboards reflect outrigger canoe shapes and butterfly joints that were used to mend precious wooden bowls. Fabrics from the 1940s and 1950s have been reinvented in the room’s pillow and bedding.
Being a true Disney resort, you will find “hidden Mickeys” in the pineapple-patterned Hawaiian quilts on the bed and Ukulele-playing Mickey Mouse lamp on the desk.

Aulani offers a variety of dining options to its guests. Visitors can choose from table service, quick-service, or casual cuisine poolside, all of which include fresh, local Hawaiian foods and international flavors. There are 10 dining options available, including:
- ‘AMA’AMA: This signature restaurant offers contemporary island cooking with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients.
- KA WA’A – a Lū’au at Alani, a Disney Resort & Spa: This luau features traditional Hawaiian food, music, and dance.
- Makahiki – The Bounty of the Islands: This buffet restaurant offers a variety of Hawaiian and international dishes.
- Ulu Cafe: This poolside cafe offers quick-service breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
- Off the Hook: This seafood restaurant offers fresh fish, shrimp, and crab dishes.
- The ‘Olelo Room: This lounge offers cocktails, beer, and wine, as well as small plates.
- Mama’s Snack Shop: This snack shop offers a variety of snacks, including ice cream, popcorn, and candy.
- Little ‘Opihi’s: This food truck offers Hawaiian street food, such as poke bowls and shave ice.
- Kalepa’s Store: This convenience store offers a variety of snacks, drinks, and groceries.
- Pāpālua Shave Ice is a refreshing treat unique to Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. It is a Hawaiian shaved ice stand located by Mama’s Snack Stop in the Waikolohe Valley Pool Area.
